To date, we have not been able to recommend that our customers fly directly to and from the UK. The interaction between airports and airlines was extremely difficult, as airlines alone could not decide on the transfer of service dogs / assistance dogs in the UK.
In fact, separate approval was always required from the respective airport. Their requirements are based on the PAT (Public Access Test), which also redefines our public skills. A special procedure is also required to train the dog for airport transfers.
After going through the whole procedure with a few customers, we have now achieved relative certainty. It is now possible to incorporate the public access test into a training course and go through all the steps for our customers.
So if you want to fly to/from the UK it will be necessary to complete this additional training. A classroom training session is part of the package and a short theory course accompanies the training.
